Welcome to St. Catherine's

CofE Primary School

St Catherine’s CE Primary School

A school where our children experience life in all its fullness.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the St. Catherine’s website. I hope that you will find much to interest you. Here you will be able to discover what makes St. Catherine’s such a special place, why children love to be here and why they remember it with such affection after they have left.

St. Catherine’s is a school which is filled with a buzz of happy activity and the warmth of positive relationships between pupils and adults. The children are taught a broad and balanced curriculum by wonderful teachers, and the academic standards are high; but St. Catherine’s is about so much more than this. It is about giving everyone the opportunity to shine and be proud; it is about having the confidence to have a go at anything and the belief that you can succeed. It is about the fun and laughter of school life and the weaving of magic.

I believe that it is these things that make our children lively, confident and articulate and is why they move on to fulfilling lives built upon the Christian values and strong foundations laid in the school. I would encourage you to pay us a visit and to sample something of the spirit of St. Catherine’s. You can be assured of a very warm welcome.

Vacancies for Parent Local Governing Body

From time to time we have vacancies for parent local governing body members. Due to one of our parent governors resigning due to family and work commitments and another long standing changing their role on the governing body we now have two vacancies for parents on our local governing body.
Being a governor can be very rewarding. Do not worry if you have no experience in education matters as full training and support are available from our Trust and colleagues on the governing body.

The last two years have evidenced the impact that the St. Catherine’s school community has in times of challenge. Never has it been more important to ensure that our school is providing a strong foundation for our young people to build on for the rest of their lives.

The Local Governing Body will continue to play a key role in the future of St. Catherine’s and throughout the last two years the Governors have played a significant role in ensuring the support and challenge for the school is of the highest standard.

The role of the Parent Governor is essential to the continued success of St Catherine’s. As a parent your insight and understanding of the pupils’ experience of school is essential to our whole school development. The Local Governing Body would also welcome parents with professional skills in key areas of governance including Education, Human Resources, Special Educational Needs and Environment.

Please find links to three documents:

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a highly committed group of Governors and play a key role in the future of our wonderful school.
If you would like to stand for election please complete the above nomination form and return it to the school no later than Friday 21 January
